Job summary

Metropolitan Human Services District in New Orleans is seeking licensed behavioral health clinicians to provide compassionate, evidence-based services to children, youth and adults across the Greater New Orleans region.

You will conduct psychosocial assessments, deliver individual and group therapy, coordinate care with families and schools, and ensure HIPAA-compliant documentation while contributing to a compassionate, patient-centered service.

Qualifications

  • Current Louisiana LPC or LMFT license with at least two years of licensed counseling experience.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy and case management.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for children, youth, and adults with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and supportive counseling to help clients achieve their treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, schools, community providers, and other support systems to coordinate comprehensive behavioral health services.
  • Monitor client progress, revise individualized Plans of Care as needed, and maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Connect clients and families with community resources while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, professional ethics, organizational policies, and Louisiana licensing standards.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, participate in staff development and quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered behavioral health team dedicated to improving outcomes across the lifespan.

One of ten districts across Louisiana, MHSD was created by the state legislature in 2003 to oversee the delivery of publicly funded, community-based mental health, addictive disorders and developmental disabilities services to our area. MHSD serves adults, children and families of Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus two years of licensed counseling experience.

Job Duties:

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
