Happier at Home in the Greater Birmingham area seeks a professional caregiver to provide non-medical, private duty home care to clients in their homes. You will deliver personalized, one-on-one assistance tailored to each care plan and maintain a compassionate, reliable presence with clients and their families.

We offer consistent part-time and full-time cases, require punctuality, privacy, and proactive communication, and emphasize integrity and respectful service within a local team.

Qualifications

• 18+ with high school diploma/GED or relevant experience.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Birmingham Metro.
• Valid Driver's License and Insurance are a must.
• Smartphone proficiency for scheduling and care notes.
• Clear background screening.
• Dementia or memory care experience is strongly valued.

Professional Caregiver (Private Duty Home Care)

Greater Birmingham Metro Area, AL

Serving Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Homewood, Pelham, Alabaster, Hueytown, Gardendale, Fultondale, Trussville, Irondale, Center Point & surrounding communities

Compensation: $14.00–$15.00+/hour based on reliability and shift type

Schedule Options: Consistent part-time and full-time cases available (1–12-hour shifts)

Preferred Availability: Open or weekend shifts preferred.

What You’ll Do:

You will provide high-quality, dignified support tailored to each client’s care plan, including:

• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility support).
• Meaningful companionship and engagement.
• Meal preparation and nutritional support.
• Light housekeeping directly related to client care.
• Transportation to appointments or errands (as needed).
• Accurate documentation and proactive communication with the care team.
• Observing and reporting changes in condition.

This is non-medical private duty care. No skilled nursing or clinical procedures are required unless separately licensed and authorized.

• Prior caregiver, CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP, or senior care experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Birmingham Metro.
• Valid Driver's License and Insurance are a must.
• Smartphone proficiency for scheduling and care notes.
• Ability to assist with mobility and remain active during shifts.
• Clear background screening.
• Dementia or memory care experience is strongly valued.
