Job summary

PDI - Kitchen, Bath, & Lighting is hiring a Delivery Driver to transport plumbing supplies and equipment to residential and commercial locations using a 26ft box truck. You will load/unload, plan routes, and maintain safety and accuracy in deliveries.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of delivery experience, a valid CDL/driver’s license, and a commitment to excellent customer service. Physical work and white-glove handling are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR.
• 2–3 years’ delivery driver experience in wholesale trade preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform loading/unloading tasks.
• Excellent customer service and professional demeanor.
• Knowledge of route planning and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 26ft box truck to transport material from branches to various customer locations, including residential and commercial sites.
• Properly load and unload materials onto and off the truck, ensuring secure placement and careful handling to prevent damage during transit.
• Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel usage, considering traffic patterns, schedules, and customer locations.
• Coordinate delivery schedules with dispatchers and customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, including friendly and professional interaction with customers, addressing inquiries or concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Handle plumbing supplies with care and attention to detail, employing white glove service techniques to maintain quality of materials.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery manifests, and required documentation for accounting, inventory, or customer billing.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the box truck, including tires, fluids, and overall vehicle condition.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies; maintain CDL and comply with regulations for transporting hazardous materials if applicable.
• Resolve delivery-related issues promptly while keeping dispatchers and supervisors informed.
• Prioritize safety with defensive driving, keep truck cab and cargo area organized, and follow safety loading/unloading protocols.
