Job Summary

ATI is currently seeking a Production Worker for our Autoclave department in the Oakdale, PA facility. In this position, you are an essential part of the atomization process which involves forming powder from molten metal using a high‑pressure inert gas. The powder metal will go through several steps before it is turned back into a solid, making it a stronger, more durable material that will be utilized in aerospace, nuclear, and national defense applications.

Responsibilities

This position requires mechanical aptitude, accurate measuring, and utilization of hand and power tools efficiently while operating the atomizing unit. It includes preparation of the melt chamber equipment, charging furnace, monitoring heat chemistries, and preparation of liquid pour for atomizing. To be successful in this role you will need a strong attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with basic computer applications, and the ability to work well independently and with a team.

• Maintain all equipment
• Weigh out raw materials and oversize powder to meet required product chemistry
• Prepare heats efficiently and accurately to promote continuous atomization
• Perform multiple refractory tasks
• Thoroughly clean, assemble, inspect, and install all equipment required for melt preparation
• Verify all equipment and materials are ready for atomization including documentation review
• Perform removal and installation of the furnace into the melt chamber including digging out, grouting, and installing blanket and ground fault
