SUMMARY

The Production Worker inspects donated items for defects and determines their appropriate outcome based on established quality standards. A Production Worker’s responsibilities include sorting, pricing, tagging, and preparing both textile and non-textile items for sale, recycling, or disposal. The Production Worker requires meeting daily production quotas while maintaining a low error rate, adhering to safety protocols, and being available to work on weekends.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Remove item from bins or carts for close inspection to determine if item is saleable.
• Scan clothing/textile items for defects such as holes, rips, tears, misaligned or missing fasteners or trim, and variations in color of fabric; examine fabric for holes or stains; sort textiles to determine quality and price or if item goes to As-Is, bale, or dump if appropriate.
• For non-clothing items, scan items for defects such as cracks, rust, broken or missing pieces, stains, and if item is operational; sort and price item accordingly; clean item as needed.
• Hang, tag, and price textile and non-textile items.
• Work at different work stations as production needs require or stocking as needs arises.
• Grade and sort 2.5 carts or 486 units per hour with an error rate of less than 5%.
• Complete (sort, hang, tag) ½ of a rack of clothing per hour or complete (sort, price) 4 totes of non-textile items per hour.
• Conduct work in a safe and responsible manner utilizing protective clothing and equipment and complies with safety standards.
• Responsible for awareness of and adherence to all company and safety policies and procedures.
