Position Overview

Grade: 6

This role will serve as the lead for lamination training in main lam, cruiser lam, and small parts lam. The responsibilities include onboarding and developing new lamination employees, teaching lamination quality standards, proper application, techniques, material terminology, tool usage, and chemical safety. The role will develop training plans, facilitate employee development, and conduct performance evaluations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead new lamination team members by example, establishing expectations for safety, quality, housekeeping, and job performance.
  • Welcome, teach, train, and develop new lamination team members.
  • Monitor and develop performance in terms of quality and proficiency.
  • Participate in the 90‑day evaluation/onboarding process with supervisor.
    • Utilize Excel and other computer‑based tools to track trainee progress, maintain training records, and report training outcomes.
  • Maintain and deliver both hands‑on and classroom‑based training using PowerPoint presentations and/or visual aids to support lamination processes and standards.
    • Teach safe and proper use of lamination tools.
    • Teach proper material application techniques.
    • Teach proper terminology and use of various lamination materials.
    • Teach safe material handling and cleanup techniques.
    • Teach standards as written in the lamination best practices quality standard.
    • Teach lamination equipment set‑up, calibration, and operator preventive maintenance.
    • Teach safety and housekeeping expectations.
  • Create and update digital training materials, including presentations, SOPs, and tracking tools to support onboarding and ongoing development.
  • Participate in vendor audits.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of lamination or manufacturing training experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use digital tools for documentation, communication, and training support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of skin, bulk, finish, and bracing processes.
  • Strong knowledge of all lamination materials and proper application.
  • Knowledge of lamination equipment set‑up, calibration, and use.
  • Knowledge of Lamination Quality Standards & Best Practices.
  • Must possess strong teaching, coaching, and development skills.
  • Ability to hold others accountable while treating all team members with respect.
  • High levels of patience, a welcoming personality, and the ability to build trust with new team members.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexible and able to multi‑task, remaining organized.
  • Adaptable to changing requirements in a positive and proactive way.
  • Professional and effective interaction with all levels within the organization.
  • Willingness to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.
  • Willingness to obtain formal composites & lamination training.
Working Conditions
  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely and report all hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Must understand basic terminology such as OSHA, DEP, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.
  • Must be able to physically handle the requirements of the job, including lifting, bending, climbing stairs, standing, etc., with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must understand all safety‑related documents and worksite rules and practices, equipment operating instructions, documented safety management systems, and health and safety requirements, including the General Safety Rules and Individual Safety Commitment.
Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.90 to $28.43 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.
