Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Test Technician 2 to support production and manufacturing operations at our Central Virginia facilities. The role involves determining testing methods, calibrating complex equipment, and validating test results to ensure reliability of assemblies.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with related experience, be able to obtain a Secret clearance, and be a U.S. citizen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant fabrication and test experience.
• Must have experience with electronics principles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Determining the methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems.
• Selection, set up, calibration and operation of complex and special equipment and facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies.
• Verification and validation of product and paperwork configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and calibration.
• Measuring, collecting and recording of electrical performance data including analysis and evaluation of the data, experimental models, resultant data, etc.
• Programming and verification of devices
• Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set‑ups to locate and repair defective areas
• Conducting test of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences
• Using hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties
• Must be capable of adapting to changing assignments and requirements

What You'll Get to Do:

• Determining the methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems

This job requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance plus program clearance. A current clearance is NOT required to apply to and interview for this job.

If you do accept an offer for this position we will start the clearance process immediately, and your start date will be confirmed once you are granted a Secret clearance.

Chosen candidates will be placed on 1st or 2nd shift. There is a shift differential (higher pay) for 2nd shift.

This position is contingent on program award.

Basic Qualifications for the Electronics Technician:

• High School Diploma/GED with an additional 2 or more years of relevant experience with fabrication and test of complex components, assemblies, devices, circuits and systems.
• Must have experience with electronics principles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance and program clearance.
• A Secret clearance is required to start.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications for the Electronics Technician:

• RF test experience and/or antenna test/range experience.
• Test development experience in a nearfield antenna range.
• Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment.
• Current active Secret Security Clearance with an investigation date of less than 5 years.

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contribution
