Job summary

CTI Foods is a customer focused custom manufacturer of quality food products dedicated to exacting standards. We seek a production operator to ensure safe production, quality and sanitation of packaging equipment.

You may perform lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of boxes while following GMP, HACCP, safety rules and SOPs. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring equipment, maintaining production records, adjusting materials, and ensuring smooth production across areas.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMPs and general instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment.
• Ability to work in a high paced environment.
• Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Safety Rules and GMPs and adhere to JSA guidelines.
• Follow all SOPs for the operation of the equipment used.
• Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner.
• Set up machinery ensuring all production materials are available.
• Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed.
• Follow specific machine operating procedures and make adjustments as necessary.
• Follow daily set up and/or shutdown procedures.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Make adjustments to check weighers, metal detectors and codes as required.
• Expected to achieve established performance standards.
• Maintain appropriate level of raw materials as required to ensure production lines incur minimal downtime.
• Work in all areas of production and packaging as assigned.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and be a team member.
• Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Complete routine documentation associated with the manufacture of product.
• Identify visual defects and make corrections as needed, and distinguish colors.
• Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures.
• Relieve other associates as necessary.
• Maintain good housekeeping and regular attendance.
• Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform all duties in a compliant and ethical manner per laws and policies.

Job Overview

Under supervision responsible for the safe production and quality of food through the operation, maintenance and sanitation of food production and packaging equipment. May perform the following tasks including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of boxes. Adhere to all GMP, HACCP, safety, regulatory, and company policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk or hear and will be working from heights. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste/smell; and frequently required to climb and must be able to reach all levels in the bay. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and regularly lifts to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times.
