Job summary

Phenomenex, a Danaher operating company, seeks a Production Technician I to manufacture GC columns on-site in El Dorado Hills, CA. The role requires following SOPs, accurate documentation, and attention to detail, with supervision by a Production Supervisor.

Excellent organization and time management are essential for success in this fast-paced lab environment. You will build and test standard, fused silica, and liquid film columns, participate in cross-training, and support QA inspections.

Responsibilities

• Process GC capillary columns per SOPs, handling small volumes of chemicals/solvents.
• Prepare GC capillary columns for processing using tools per instructions.
• Transfer completed GC capillary columns with documentation to QA for inspection.
• Verify materials and data entry in AX/Access system.
• Train in manufacture of standard, fused silica, liquid film columns and cross-train in other areas as needed.

Production Technician I is responsible for manufacturing a variety of gas chromatography (GC) columns and works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision. This role requires excellent organization, good time management, and strong attention to detail.

This position reports to the Production Supervisor and is part of the Production Team located in El Dorado Hills, CA and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Following written instructions (SOPs), process GC capillary columns to include handling small volumes of chemicals/solvents.
• Prepare GC capillary columns for processing using tools according to written instructions.
• Transfer completed GC capillary columns, with documentation, to QA department for inspection.
• Verification/inspection of materials and data entry in AX/Access computer system.
• Train in the manufacture of all standard, fused silica, liquid film columns and demonstrated acceptable yields. Crosstrain in other work area(s) as identified by business need.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• 1+ years of production experience
• High School diploma
• Analytical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Associates degree or other certification preferred

The hourly rate for this role is $18.75 - 23.00 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
