Job summary

ICU Medical is seeking a Packaging Technician to ensure proper operation of automatic and semi-automatic packaging equipment and proper placement into finished goods inventory. You will manage stock, set up sensors, and perform changeovers and preventive maintenance in a regulated environment.

The role requires up to 3 years of manufacturing experience with automated equipment; 18+ years old; High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform shift start up paperwork to ensure effective hand off from previous shift.

• Maintain ink levels in print trays; clean trays between runs as needed. Replace print plates when color change is performed.

The Technician will ensure top and bottom stock, print plates and machine systems are set up according to specified guidelines for identified product.

• Maintain VP Plex for machine scheduling.
• Initiate action to prevent nonconformances; initiate recommendations, provide solutions and verify operational improvements.
• Perform all functions of a Team Operator when required.
• Assist with training of new Technicians.
• Maintain 5S standards in assigned work areas.
• Model company values and support strategic initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
• This position is required to assure compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including knowledge of all standards, government occupational health and environmental regulations and statutes related to the site).

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma, or GED required. Technical school background desirable.
• Education requirements may be obtained through an educational institution or gained through equivalent work experience.
• Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience. Previous experience with automated and semi-automated equipment preferred.

Work Environment

• Work involves use of manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May be exposed to biohazards and/or chemicals.
• Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
• Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping, crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, and upper body.
• Concentrated visual attention to perform checks on finished packaging.
• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.
