Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in Akron, IN is seeking a Production Worker to operate in the tube and core division. You will report to the shift supervisor and contribute to a fast-paced, quality-focused environment with emphasis on safety and attendance.

The role requires flexibility for overtime, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and prior manufacturing experience. Forklift certification is preferred to help on the production line.

Qualifications

• You have at least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• You can lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• You are reliable with good initiative and a quality focus.
• You can read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• You can perform repetitive duties and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams.
• Troubleshoot problems and situations on the line.
• Make incremental process adjustments and monitor/report product quality.
• Learn to set up new jobs and train on other lines/departments.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Perform duties as directed by supervisor/manager.
• Support Sonoco's quality and safety policies.
• Help other departments as needed.
• Downtime is cleaning and straightening time.
