Job Overview:

Permanent Replacement: Our Victorville location is currently experiencing an economic strike. You are being hired as a permanent replacement of a striking employee.

Position: Production Technician I

The Production Technician I is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to maximize production and maintain KDP’s high standards in safety and quality. This role will also support improvements in manufacturing processes related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and growth.

Shift & Schedule:

This is a full-time position with the following shifts available:

• 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• 2nd Shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm
• 3rd Shift: 10:00pm - 6:30am

Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled is required.

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors at all times.
• Understand and help drive improvements to quality systems and policies (Quality Data System, Safe Quality Food, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
• Learn to safely operate and monitor high-speed production equipment.
• Actively resolve production line issues, develop standard work, track production data, and participate in KDP’s lean daily management process.
• Participate in formal problem-solving processes with team members.
• Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.
• Demonstrate KDP values of Team First, Deliver Big, Think Bold, Being Fearless, and Fair.

Qualifications:

• Ability to quickly learn processing and packaging equipment; mechanical understanding or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Self-motivated team player with decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort with basic computer functions and quick learner of production software.
• Basic mathematical skills for production calculations.

Total Rewards:

• Starting pay at $20.57 per hour plus shift differential. Pay increases to $21.09 per hour after the 6-month anniversary.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stretch, stand, kneel, squat, climb stairs/ladders, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.
• Ability to work in various temperature and humidity conditions.
