Job summary

Silfex Inc., A Lam Research Company is seeking a quality-focused inspector to program and operate CMM/VCMM machines, develop inspection plans, and verify parts meet engineering specifications. You will document measurements, support lean initiatives, and ensure safety in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

The role requires 2+ years in quality or machine operation, proficient use of Zeiss Calypso, WinWerth and View, and ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in Quality or operating a machine preferably with silicon, glass, or related material.
• Experience programming machines using Zeiss Calypso, WinWerth, and View.
• Able to read drawings and specifications for machining and inspection results.
• Must be detail oriented and able to use micrometers, indicators, calipers, and other measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply knowledge of Silfex Quality Management System.
• Create inspection plans per engineering requests.
• Inspect parts for defects visually and with basic measuring equipment to meet specs.
• Document measurements and maintain proper files (BKMs).
• Set up and troubleshoot CMM/VCMM machines and related software.
• Train associates on proper machine usage and safety.
• Support lean manufacturing concepts and 5S in the department.

That’s why we invest in you throughout the phases of your life with a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits that start on your first day of employment.Discover more at Lam BenefitsJob Description:Essential Function:Program inspection plans, setup, and validate CMM/VCMM machines to measure quality products that meet or exceed all requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:· Develop and apply knowledge of Silfex Quality Management System· Accurately create inspection plans per engineering requests· Inspect parts for defects and other anomalies visually and by using basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, indicators, and calipers to ensure parts meet proper specifications· Properly document measurements BKMs· Use proper material handling techniques· Supports manufacturing operations by providing CMM/VCMM programs· Develops continuous improvements by researching new methods, evaluates new tooling and fixtures· Study current processes and makes recommendations for improving operations.· Setup and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment· Maintain job rotation within department· Interpret drawings, work instructions, and other production related information· Interpret setup sheets and data related to part/machine setups· Use CAD/Autodesk software to transfer programs to/from CMM machines· Setup/operate CMM machining centers and related software· Troubleshoot and identify problems with inspection machines, programs, and tooling· Train all associates on proper machine usage· Solicit input from machinists, supervisors, or others to recommend improvements· Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing· Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S· Perform general housekeeping tasks· Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments· Perform other duties as assigned by department managementCulture:Display a positive attitude and strong work ethic that reflects the Mission and Core Values of Silfex.Create and maintain a culture where workplace safety is part of everything we do.
