Job summary

PerkinElmer in Mansfield, England is seeking a Production Technician to contribute to the timely manufacture of Solus diagnostic kits and related consumables. You will prepare reagents, coat microwell plates, and perform QC testing in line with GMP and ISO9001 standards.

You will support demand planning, stock control, and raw material procurement while maintaining accurate Batch Manufacturing Records and Certificates of Analysis.

Qualifications

  • Suitable for a science graduate or school leaver with science subjects at A-Level. Full training will be given.
  • Must be willing to learn and be happy to work independently at times.
  • Team player.

  • Reliable.
  • Knowledge and experience of COSHH & GMP Principles would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Producing Solus diagnostic kits and assays, and the range of consumables for the Lactoscope milk analyser in accordance with GMP and current quality standards.
  • Supporting senior members of staff in demand planning, stock control and procurement of raw materials.
  • Preparation of coated microwell plates including Streptavidin plates.
  • Preparation of diagnostic reagents.
  • Completing quality-controlled forms (Batch Manufacturing Record) paperwork in their entirety in a neat and readable manner.
  • Support in reviewing and generating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and other controlled documents.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of Batch Manufacturing Records and Certificates of Analysis for raw materials and finished products.
  • Dispensing of reagents with some heavy lifting required.
  • To actively participate in the QC analysis of all diagnostic kits manufactured in Mansfield where relevant.
  • Packing of diagnostic kits (and microwell plates).
  • Preparation of 'basic' microbiology culture media.
  • Participate in 'basic' microbiological techniques such as cell enumeration and 'basic' confirmatory tests.
  • Actively involved in maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in both the production and laboratory areas, and general 'good housekeeping'.
  • Actively involved in health and safety aspects of the laboratory and production areas (including helping to produce risk assessments) and ensuring others work in a 'safe' manner.
  • Helping with laboratory investigations in relation to customer complaints.
  • Maintaining correct storage of both raw materials and finished goods
  • Working with software systems such as Microsoft Office, QPulse, CIM50 and SAGE
  • Assisting the R&D department in production-based activities.

Overall Role Purpose

Contribute to the timely manufacture of Solus diagnostic kits in accordance with current quality standards (ISO9001:2015), including preparation of chemical reagents and assay components such as coated diagnostic microwell plates.Production and QC testing of the range of consumables required for the Lactoscope milk analyser by Delta Instruments.To be actively involved in Health and Safety relating to the Mansfield laboratory and production areas.
