Job summary

United Protective Technologies, Locust, NC, is hiring a Production Technician for our warehouse production line. The role involves wiring, de-wiring, fixture work, cleaning and prepping metal parts, and cross-training on coating room equipment.

Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 lbs solo and 50+ lbs with team, stand for long periods, and pass background checks and a drug screen. High school diploma or equivalent required; production experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to bend and move.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Physically move around the production floor to move parts between stations.
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a warehouse/industrial environment to wire, de-wire, fixture and handle metal parts.
  • Clean/prep metal parts and molds; cross-train to operate coating room equipment.
  • Lift and move parts; inspect, pack and ship as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow PPE requirements.
  • Grow with UPT by learning new duties and adapting to production needs.

Salary Range: $17.00 To $20.00 Hourly

Description:

A Production Technician at UPT works in a warehouse/industrial environment and uses their hands to wire, de-wire, fixture, de-fixture and handle metal parts. Our Production Technicians also clean/prep small metal parts and larger molds, as well as cross train to operate coating room machines/equipment.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Production Technicians work in a warehouse/industrial environment
  • Production Technicians use their hands to wire (fixture), de-wire (de-fixture), inspect, clean, and pack customer parts (metal parts, such as injection molds, gun slides, gears, pinions, knife blades, etc.)
  • After training, Production Technicians will perform job duties independently, with little supervision
  • Production Technicians must keep their work environment clean and safe and must wear appropriate PPE (glasses, gloves and mask when needed)
  • Production Technicians must be able to lift 50lbs. (solo lift) and 50+ lbs. (team lift), stand for long periods of time, move around the production floor to move parts and carts from one station to the next, must have good manual dexterity, a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn new things, and grow with UPT
  • Production Technicians must also cross train and perform other duties (hand cleaning, wiping/spraying parts with cleaning solution, working in blasting cabinets, loading parts into cleaning tanks, coating room duties, operate equipment and machines, shipping and receiving duties, etc.) as needed and assigned by the Manager

Must be able to train for 4-6 weeks on 1st shift
