Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Job Description

KRIV FOX 26, the FOX owned-and-operated station in Houston, is transforming how local news is gathered and delivered. We no longer wait for appointed times to deliver content. We're a streaming first news organization. We are seeking a Full-Time Production Technician to join our news team. This role supports live and recorded news production in a fast-paced, automated broadcast environment.

Responsibilities

• Switching and coding live newscasts using the Ross Overdrive Automation System
• Operating or supporting Vizrt / TriCaster workflows, audio, graphics, robotic cameras, studio lighting, floor directing, and live-shot coordination
• Working with the Technical Operations Center to tune in and troubleshoot live shots using LiveU Central, microwave, and other live transmission systems
• Coordinating live shots and managing a fast-paced, deadline-driven control room environment

Qualifications

• Production professional with experience in live switching, technical directing, producing or directing live news content
• Experience as a director, technical director, or audio operator preferred
• Knowledge of Chyron or similar graphics systems
• Experience producing and writing content is a plus
• Ability to multitask under pressure, communicate clearly, work well in a team environment, and adapt quickly during breaking news
• Flexible hours are required, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, vacation coverage, and sick-leave coverage
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits

The pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $33.50-34.94 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
