Job summary

Ball Corporation in Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Production Technician to join a fast-paced 24/7 manufacturing team. You will observe SOPs, operate and repair high-speed equipment, and support preventative maintenance to meet production goals.

The role requires collaboration and strict safety practices on a 12-hour shift pattern (6am–6pm/6pm–6am) with 4 days on/4 days off. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of mechanical experience with troubleshooting

Qualifications

• 1-year minimum experience in a mechanical job-related field with demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including but not limited to food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.
• Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed production equipment to meet plant production goals.
• Assist with performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Inspect aluminium for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
• Build positive relationships across designated team by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

Position Overview

As a Production Technician, you’re a member of a production crew, reporting to a supervisor of an assigned production area. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility.

The Goodyear plant is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 12 - hour shifts (6am-6pm/6pm-6am) working 4 days on/4 days off and rotating from day to night shift every 32 days.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

• Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including but not limited to food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.
• Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed production equipment to meet plant production goals.
• Assist with performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Inspect aluminium for proper quality standards and customer specifications.

Required Experience and Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• 1-year minimum experience in a mechanical job-related field with demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• 2 years’ work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions

• Hot/Cold working conditions.
• Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
• Climbing (stairs, and other equipment as necessary).

• Expected Hiring Hourly Rate:$32.40 (Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
• This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

• Onsite Work Environment:This position is based in Goodyear, AZ and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
