The Production Plant Technician has the responsibility for the operation and control of equipment used in air separation, vacuum swing absorption and carbon dioxide plants.; also accountability for the care and maintenance of plant mechanical, instrumentation and electrical devices and equipment. The position will provide support to various types of processing plants in order to support startups, training and leave coverage for normal production technicians. Demonstrate an overall understanding of plant safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies/procedures. Instill safety in others by being safety minded; models good safety practices. Work safely in all situations. Identify potential maintenance needs; enter them into the work order maintenance management system (Maximo). Perform all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures, utilizing current Life Safety Training skills and safety requirements including safe work permits, energy control isolation and IDLs, confined space entry work, hot work, work plans, pre-job discussions, plant safety inspections, etc. Ensure contractors, visitors, co-workers and others comply with company safety policies/procedures. Issues safe work permit documentation and performs lock-out tag-out of equipment. Acquire knowledge/ability in all plant operations including processes and equipment. Exhibit instrumentation and mechanical aptitude. Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), corporate procedures; read and interpret flow charts, process piping ISOs, simple schematics, P&IDs, electrical schematics; perform basic math operations. Keep accurate records and be diligent in documentation and record retention policies and procedures. Demonstrate knowledge & understanding of control board and operator interface computer consoles. Perform operator rounds, water samples, truck loading, operations PM's. Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational standards. Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Management
