Job summary

The J.M. Smucker Company in Buffalo, NY is hiring entry-level Production Technicians to support our pet food manufacturing operations. You will join a collaborative team focusing on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, including data collection and process optimization.

Ideal candidates have manufacturing exposure, the ability to learn quickly, and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts; training provided on GMPs, safety rules, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing (pet food or consumer packaged goods preferred).
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule (days or nights).
• Able to read and follow documents and SOPs.

What We're Looking For:

Manufacturing experience (preference for pet food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods) A proven track record of good attendance and consistent performance delivering consistent safety and quality Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions with diverse employeesMust be willing to be on shift (12-hour 2-2-3 shift rotation fixed days or nights)Safely operate powered industrial equipment and follow all company Safety Rules & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)Able to operate perform basic physical activities: climbing standing bending twisting and moving around stairs ladders platforms and various equipment Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions Must be able toeffectively read comprehend interpret record and apply information from documents Mechanical interest and operational skillsAble to learn new systems record operational data and communicate resultsTrack quality and waste metricsEmphasis on sanitation/cleaningAble to lift objects up to 50 pounds frequently Willingness to flow to the work to meet the needs of the businessEducation
