Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. Alpena Cement Plant is seeking a capable manufacturing associate to support shift operations. The role involves multitasking, performing mechanical tasks, operating equipment, and following health and safety protocols on a physically demanding site.

Candidates should be prepared to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as schedules dictate. A technical degree is preferred and compliance with PPE and safety regulations is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Identify and correct environmental issues noted during daily shift operations.
• Provide troubleshooting and process change recommendations based on test results.
• Perform shift and pre-start inspections and address safety or maintenance issues on equipment.
• Ensure quality parameters are maintained in accordance with Amrize and ASTM guidelines.
• Measure silos as needed and maintain raw material flow in hoppers, tanks and feeders.
• Operate mobile equipment including skid loader, forklift, man lift, telehandler, vac truck, and dozer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This individual must demonstrate the ability to multitask based on the needs of the shift. In some instances, the employee may be required to work in excess of 8 hours per shift. The individual must be able to perform mechanical tasks, understand equipment operation and inspection, and will perform duties that are at times quite physical in nature.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Identify and correct any environmental issues noted during daily shift operations.
• Provide troubleshooting and process changes recommendations based on test results.
• To perform shift and pre-start inspections and insure that any safety or maintenance issues on the equipment are addressed.
• Ensure quality parameters, throughout every step of processes are maintained in accordance with Amrize and ASTM guidelines and procedures.
• Measure silos as needed
• Maintain raw material flow in hoppers, tanks and feeders, which at times requires manual labor to unplug blockages. Reporting any material flow problem that could adversely impact the manufacturing process.
• Clean around raw material hoppers, coke tunnel, and finish mill feeders, etc. as needed.
• Work any shift, including weekends and paid holidays as schedules dictate.
• Use safe work practices and report hazardous conditions as encountered on the job.
• Mobile equipment operation including, but not limited to, skid loader, forklift, man lift, telehandler, vac truck, load and dozer.
• Minimum fringe product created throughout the process
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
