LKQ Corporation in Springfield, MO, is seeking a Production Tech for the Automotive Engine Remanufacturing line. The role focuses on meeting quality standards, assembling products, monitoring equipment, and adhering to safety procedures in a potentially hazardous environment.

The position offers first shift, 6am–4:30pm, with occasional Fridays, no Saturdays or Sundays, and a starting pay of $19.00/hour with potential up to $20.00/hour plus monthly bonuses. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old; no experience required; training provided.
• Ability to learn how production equipment works.
• Knowledge of basic safety rules; PPE provided.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Basic computer skills and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment.
• Maintain the warehouse’s machines.
• Assemble machinery parts.
• Store products and materials.
• Meet deadlines during shift.
• Report defective products or machinery.
• Check stock levels and report deficiencies.
• Keep the worksite clean to prevent hazards.

Automotive Engine Remanufacturing – Production Tech

Starting Pay: $19.00/hour and up to $20.00/hour potential (with earned MONTHLY bonuses)

Schedule: 1st SHIFT ONLY! Monday – Thursday 6am – 4:30pm (10hours) Some Friday work as needed NO SATURDAYS! NO SUNDAYS!

Job Summary

A Production Tech is responsible for meeting quality standards and deadlines for products. They check for defects, assemble products, monitor manufacturing equipment, and closely follow safety procedures to prevent accidents in environments where materials may be hazardous.

Essential Job Duties

• Operate production equipment
• Maintain the warehouse’s machines
• Assemble machinery parts
• Store products and materials
• Meet the deadlines of individual production tasks during shift
• Report on defective products or machinery
• Check stock levels and report deficiencies in products or raw materials
• Keep the worksite clean to avoid hazards from chemicals and fragile products
• Review and follow manufacturing manuals to build machinery
• Ensure shipping procedures are timely
• Transfer equipment manually or with forklift trucks
• Follow the company’s safety and quality guidelines

This position may perform other duties as assigned or fill in for others in the department or other departments as needed or requested. May train or instruct fellow workers regarding duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Education & Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age. No experience needed! We will train you to succeed.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to learn how production equipment works.
• Ability to detect potential problems with machinery.
• Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Basic computer skills
• Basic messages communicated orally.
• May write brief messages and keep simple records.
• Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions and procedures.
• Follows standard procedures.
• Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

Requires continuous physical effort; short work cycles; repetitive motion work. Standing 80%, walking 20%. Lifts, pushes, pulls an average of 80+ lb. occasionally, 40 lb. frequently, and 20 lb. constantly. Exposures to atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, varying temperature extremes. Exposure to noise, various chemicals, and waste products.
