Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Produce welded automotive components using manual and robotic equipment.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions.
  • Perform minor prescribed preventative maintenance on machines.
  • Perform minor preventative maintenance on machines as instructed.
  • Complete tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Load/unload automated welding cells and operate welding equipment as trained.
  • Perform routine checks such as changing weld tips and cleaning machines.
  • Complete daily Production Reports accurately and completely.
  • Work safely in a shop environment.

Description

This position is responsible for producing welded automotive components by means of a standardized work instruction.

  • Following Standardized Work, use a variety of manual and robotic equipment to produce welded automotive components.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the immediate supervisor.
  • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Perform minor prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as instructed.
  • Complete tasks as dictated by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Following Standard Work Instructions, must be able to perform, but not limited to the following operations necessary to build welded automotive parts. Loading and unloading of automated welding cells, loading and operating of manual welding machinery, and with training, manual arc welding.
  • Performing routine maintenance to equipment such as changing weld tips, cleaning machine, and checking jig at start of work for potential problems.
  • Completing daily Production Reports accurately and completely.
  • Working Safely
  • Minimum of grammar school education (GED or High School Diploma preferred)
  • Must be able to communicate well in the English language, both written and verbal.
  • Work performed in a shop environment.
  • Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
  • May work at different work areas as production needs require.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements
  • Be able to stand on feet a minimum of 8 hours and up to 11 hours as business needs require.
  • Lift up to 27 Pounds up to 400 times a day. Occasionally lift up to 60 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions up to 6,500 times a day
  • Be able to work Saturdays and Sundays as required by FIA to meet business needs.
  • Occasional stooping or reaching overhead
  • Push and pull containers with a maximum force of 33 pounds
