Job summary

Thogus Products Company seeks a Team Lead to manage Inspection Operator duties (Levels 1–3 as needed) and to support the Shift Supervisor. This role involves labor allocation, shift meetings, and ensuring accuracy of inventory and SOPs.

You will train operators, communicate proactively with supervision, and back up supervisor tasks as required in a 2nd shift environment in Ohio.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years related experience preferred; training experience is strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing or plastics experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Inspection Operator Levels 1–2 and trainer duties (Level 3).
  • Labor allocation, shift meetings, and act as backup to Supervisor when needed.
  • Investigate inventory issues and ensure process accuracy; update SOPs as needed.
  • Support the organization with additional duties to ensure production success.

Job description

The Team Lead’s primary responsibilities include the those of the Inspection Operator Level 1 through Level 3 as needed. The Team Lead is trained and capable of maintaining day-to-day production operations within the Inspection Operator team. The Team Lead is capable of supporting the Shift Supervisor primarily and/or performing duties carried out by the Shift Supervisor as required. The Team Lead reports to the Shift Supervisor and receives training-related guidance as needed. This individual is expected to perform job responsibilities according to the company’s core values and in accordance with applicable employment law best practices.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Inspection Operator Level 1 and Level 2 job functions

  • Assist with update of job board layout
  • Investigate and remedy inventory issues & discrepancies
  • Functional understanding of Supervisor roles and responsibilities in order to act as a backup to Supervisor when needed.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed to support the success of the organization

  • Proficient with IQMS and scan gun navigation
  • Mastery of all Inspection Operator (1), Trainer (2), and related responsibilities
  • Ability to research and solve routine issues and problems, including inventory

Education, Training and/or Experience

  • Proficient in job functions of Operators Level 1-2
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • One to three years related experience and/or training preferred
  • Training experience Strongly preferred
  • Manufacturing or Plastics experience preferredLeadership or supervisory experience preferred

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, or customers, of organization.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.
