Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Production Team Leader to guide a production line, drive quality and safety, and train team members under general supervision.

The role emphasizes front-line leadership, setting pace, coordinating daily work, and supporting continuous-improvement initiatives. Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime is required to maintain production goals and uphold Lean 5S standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing/production experience, including informal team leadership.
  • 2+ years of experience with assembly processes, standard work and quality requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting work instructions, blueprints and production documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience training others and resolving non-routine production issues under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily work of a production team on the assigned line.
  • Set up and start the line, verify first-piece quality and support changeovers.
  • Train and certify team members on standard work and quality requirements.
  • Perform in-process quality checks and escalate abnormalities.
  • Support rapid problem-solving and containment on the line.
  • Maintain 5S, safety compliance and production/quality records.
  • Backfill production positions to sustain output.
  • Support continuous improvement and kaizen activities.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor/management when needed.

About This Role

The Production Team Leader is an hourly leadership role that guides a production team on the floor, setting the pace, supporting quality and safety, and training team members. Working under general supervision, this role is the front-line technical and operational reference for the line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads and coordinates the daily work of a production team on the assigned line.
  • Sets up and starts the line, verifies first-piece quality and supports changeovers.
  • Trains and certifies team members on standard work and quality requirements.
  • Performs and supports in-process quality checks and escalates abnormalities.
  • Supports rapid problem-solving and containment when issues arise on the line.
  • Maintains 5S, safety compliance and accurate production/quality records.
  • Backfills production positions as needed to sustain output.
  • Supports continuous-improvement and kaizen activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Escalate issues as needed to supervisor/management/leadership team.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of manufacturing/production experience, including informally leading or training a team.
  • 2+ years of experience working with assembly processes, standard work and quality requirements.
  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting work instructions, blueprints and production documentation.
  • 2+ years of experience training others and resolving non-routine production issues with general supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical/associate degree or trade certification preferred.
  • Prior team lead or trainer experience in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools (5S, standard work, kaizen).
  • Experience with quality tools and basic problem-solving methods.
  • Low Volume, High Mix preferred. (High Mix)
  • HVAC Experience
  • 1+ year Welding/Brazing experience
  • Strong safety orientation (OSHA, LOTO) and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach and perform repetitive motions for the full shift; lift up to 40 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Availability to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime based on production needs

  • 2+ years HVAC experience

Pay Range

The hourly rate for this position is between $24.00 - $48.00 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
