The ideal candidate has prior production leadership experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a solid understanding of standard manufacturing practices, quality audits, and ISO/IATF requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education.
  • Must have experience in production-oriented environment.
  • Preferred: Leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have valid Michigan Driver’s license.
  • Familiar with IATF 16949/ISO14001 requirements.
  • Demonstrated organizational, communication and computer skills.
  • Preferred: Blueprint reading.
  • Frequent exposure to industrial manufacturing, automotive vehicles, weather elements, chemicals and robotics.
  • Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production assisting associates where required with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Be visible and lead continuous improvement, train new associates on procedures, quality and safety.
  • Perform audits on products and document inspections to established quality criteria.
  • Ensure quality records are completed and nonconforming material is handled per procedure.
  • Enforce rules, codes of conduct and proper housekeeping on the production floor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are currently seeking:

Job Summary

The Production Lead position is responsible for the overseeing and direction of their assigned team, while ensuring production requirements are met. Production Leads act as intermediaries between supervisors and employees, ensuring employees are following their assigned duties, and providing positive guidance in all processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily production assisting associates where required which incorporates a hands-on approach combined with positive guidance in all processes.
    • Be visible and assume leadership in continuous improvement ensuring new associate training considering job procedures, quality and health and safety.
    • Responsible for new process set up and tear down.
  • Perform audits on products received, in process or finished to established quality requirements and document on appropriate check sheets.
    • Performance and documentation of 1st Off inspection, in process inspection per criteria and frequency and of final inspection per guidelines as listed on final inspection check sheets.
  • Ensure that all quality records generated as a result of the above actions are completed legibly and filed away or routed to the appropriate location.
    • Ensure all nonconforming product is handled as per the Nonconforming Material Procedure.
  • Ensure associates follow all rules and codes of conduct including incident/accident reporting, documentation and proper care.
    • Ensure all housekeeping practices are adhered to.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • Minimum Required: Minimum grade 12 education.
  • Experience
    • Minimum Required: Must have experience in production-oriented environment.
  • Preferred: Previous leadership and problem-solving skills is an asset.
  • Must have valid Michigan Driver’s license
  • Familiar with IATF 16949/ISO14001 requirements

Physical Requirements

Our production facility is a climate-controlled environment. There is no long‑term exposure to dangerously loud noise or extreme temperatures.

Cognitive abilities include executing tasks independently; learning and/or memorizing tasks; maintaining concentration/focus on tasks; working with/in close proximity to, other people.

All salaried team members are expected to perform their duties/responsibilities in a timely manner. Although they may not have set schedules, they are expected to either be at work on a schedule agreed upon by their manager or be available via phone/text/Teams if working remotely (authorized situations only).
