Job description

Get hands‑on with Winnebago Revel and Ekko adventure vans, keep the production floor humming, and grow into advanced installation and systems work over time.

About the role

As a Production Support Technician (Entry Level) at Overland Design‑Build, you'll be an essential part of our production team while building a strong foundation in professional van upfitting. This role is designed for someone with basic mechanical aptitude, an interest in vehicles, and a desire to grow into more advanced installation and systems work over time.

Unlike full conversion shops, ODB specializes in enhancing Winnebago Revel and Winnebago Ekko vans through the installation of our in‑house engineered products and carefully selected aftermarket components. In this role, you'll support our Production Engineers and Van Build Technicians by handling shop logistics, build prep, vehicle movement, and hands‑on assistance during installations.

This is not a purely "shop helper" role — it's a growth position. You'll start by owning the work that keeps the production floor running efficiently, while gradually learning installation techniques, tools, and standards as your skills develop.

You'll work closely with the Production Manager and shop team in a hands‑on environment where craftsmanship, communication, and accountability matter. If you're excited to work with vans, learn real technical skills, and build a career in the overland and adventure vehicle space, this role is a strong place to start.

What you'll do
Support production operations
  • Stage parts, tools, and kits for upcoming builds
  • Assist with prep, teardown, and cleanup so technicians can stay focused on high‑value install work
Handle shop logistics
  • Run local errands and parts pickups
  • Receive and organize inventory
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient shop
Assist with installations
  • Support technicians with basic mechanical installs such as brackets, racks, cabinets, seating, ladders, and accessory mounts
  • Learn proper fastening, torque, and fit‑and‑finish standards
Work on Revels & Ekkos
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to Winnebago's flagship adventure vans
  • Learn how aftermarket upgrades integrate with factory systems
Learn systems over time
  • Gradually assist with electrical, plumbing, and other system installs under supervision
Keep the shop sharp
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces
Be a reliable teammate
  • Communicate clearly with the Production Manager and team
  • Flag issues early and help keep projects on schedule
What we're looking for
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in vehicles (automotive, bikes, fabrication, DIY, etc.)
  • Comfortable using basic hand and power tools
  • Valid driver's license with clean record
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in tight spaces
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Reliable, organized, and team‑oriented
Preferred experience (not required)
  • Automotive, RV, marine, or trade experience
  • Basic familiarity with 12‑volt systems
  • Warehouse, inventory, or shop support experience
What kind of person succeeds here
  • Craftsmanship matters: You care about clean installs and professional results.
  • Clear communicator: You share updates, questions, and challenges openly.
  • Composed under pressure: You focus on solutions when plans change.
  • Humble and accountable: You're eager to learn but take ownership.
  • Curious: You want to understand how systems work and improve them.
Why you'll love working here
  • Work with purpose: Every install improves a real van for real‑world use.

  • Variety: Mechanical installs, shop support, and systems exposure.
  • Tools & gear: Access to high‑quality shop tools plus personal kit stipends.
  • Training & growth: Cross‑training in electrical, cabinetry, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Employee perks: Discounts on ODB products and aftermarket gear.
  • Culture: Pride in clean work, teamwork, and doing it right.
  • Time off: 1 week PTO · 7 paid holidays · 48 hours paid sick leave · 3‑day weekends (4×10 schedule).

  • Cross‑train into electrical, cabinetry, plumbing, suspension, and accessories.
  • Advance into Installation Technician or Van Build Technician roles.
  • Contribute to process improvements and company growth.
