Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island seeks a Production Support Specialist to join our Manufacturing and Development Team. You will support requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory and tooling to technicians, while maintaining safe, clean work areas and following 5S principles.

You will collaborate across teams to resolve material shortages, drive continuous improvement, and ensure timely production flow on a busy aerospace line.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, Accredited GED or equivalent vocational certifications or training.
  • 2+ years of Inventory Control, Tool Crib and/or Material Handling experience or 2+ years of Administrative experience.
  • Experience working with a cross functional team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and can apply continuous improvement concepts.
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift and perform acute work.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, unassisted.
  • Must be able to pass DBIDS background check; role on a military installation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or as lawfully admitted.

Responsibilities

  • Requisitioning, receiving, storing, and issuing inventory, tooling, consumables and other assets to technicians and operators.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas following company policies and industry best practices (5S).
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production Control to ensure work completes on time to schedule.
  • Work cross functionally to expedite any material shortages.
  • Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.
  • Prepare for, conduct, and assist in reconciliation of cycle counts and site audits.
  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment to support daily operations.
  • Assist in the implementation of a robust materials management process including purchasing, handling, storage, control, and distribution.
  • Aggressively enforce safe material handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, catalog, and report manufacturing delays, sources, and resolutions needed to Operations Supervisors and Managers

  • Aggressively enforce safe material handling practices


Qualifications


  • High School Diploma, Accredited GED or equivalent vocational certifications or training
