Position: Production Support Specialist
Reports to: Yard Supervisor
Shift: Shifts Vary (8a-4p, 4p-12a, 12a-8a) includes weekends and holidays
Pay: $32.55 (after 90 days probation); potential to earn up to $39.76 per hour. Annual raises July 1st every year: this is a collective bargaining position
Under general supervision and according to specified policies and procedures, performs general cleanup and material handling duties. May perform numerous and varied jobs, using more specialized skills, under the guidance of others. Complies with all applicable safety and environmental policies and regulations. Once trained, there will be opportunities to move into different professions such as heavy equipment operator, process utility repair/operator, Repairperson, Lab Tech, etc. Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Clean the plant of materials or process spills - using brooms, shovels, and wheelbarrows that may weigh 200 pounds full; carry buckets that weigh as much as 50 pounds full; pneumatic scrapers that weigh approximately 20 pounds; air lances 3/4 inch in diameter up to 10 feet long, that weigh approximately 10 pounds.
Remove cement build-up from equipment by use of hammers and mallets that weigh between 1 and 10 pounds.
Run mobile equipment in the plant: loader, bobcat, forklift, man lift, and dump truck.
Clean the plant by using a high-pressure fire hose that weighs approximately 100 pounds and exerts approximately 100 pounds of thrust when in use.
Assists as needed in performing maintenance, production, and/or shipping duties as relief for workers in other departments as assigned by Yard Supervisor or Production Manager.
Observes all safety rules and keep work areas clean. (continuous)
Learns about plant operations including the process flow of raw materials, gases, and finished products.

Work is to be performed outdoors, in all weather conditions. Exposure to dust, loud noise, heat, dirt, and high elevations of up to 150 feet. Exposure to high elevations of up to 150 feet in height. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure. Work involves walking over rough surfaces, climbing 30-foot ladders, climbing stairs, bending pushing, pulling, working at heights up to 250 feet; working in an awkward position and in confined spaces, and lifting materials weighing up to 125 pounds.
