Job summary

Shasta Beverages, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Production Support to help set up, adjust, maintain, and configure equipment for pallet building in the warehouse. This role supports beverage manufacturing processes and communicates with production personnel.

  • Build stable pallet loads for shipment and wrap securely.
  • Maintain equipment and keep area clean; adhere to GMP and FDA regulations.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Production Support role is an entry-level position that provides support to the beverage manufacturing processes. The primary responsibilities of the Production Support role are to set up, adjust, maintain, and configure equipment to build pallets of beverage products for storage in the warehouse and shipment to customers. The Production Support role will build pallets according to assigned specifications, regularly communicate with production personnel and supervisors, and complete the required production paperwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safely and efficiently start up the automated and manual portions of the Variety Pack Line, Direct Ready Pallet production, Re-packing production, and similar material handling processes and equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections and complete documentation during the run to ensure defect-free work.
  • May be called upon when a need arises to backfill the production lines.
  • Utilize pick tickets and receiving documentation to accurately choose the products for the VP DRP line.
  • Build stable, well-built, and accurate pallet loads for shipment – automated and manual.
  • Properly operate the automated and manual wrappers, which circle the pallet load with a roll of plastic wrap until secure.
  • Ensure item pick accuracy and safety of products to prevent damage.
  • Understand pallet layers, heights, and counting methods used when working with pallets of product.
  • Read and understand product descriptions, packaging and pick ticket messages.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment with regards to cleaning and clearing them of debris and materials.
  • Verify case combination and size according to schedule.
  • Consistently meet established company production and service level standards and record hourly production data on the whiteboard or media provided at the line.
  • Utilize warehouse processes to minimize damage and other areas of waste.
  • Inform the supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or product description.
  • Must follow the work rules at all times as given in the Employee Handbook entitled, “Welcome to National BevPak.”
  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) compliance MUST be adhered to at all times.
  • Keep the work area clean at all times.
  • Shut down all equipment at the end of shift, if the line is going down for the day.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common information, reports, and other documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or company representatives. Ability to effectively present information to management.

May be required to push or pull with a dolly or pallet jack up to 500 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Field positions will be exposed to various unfamiliar conditions where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn and which may include, but are not limited to: manufacturing and warehouse plants, and other venues as directed by the supervisor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but increases significantly in warehouse and manufacturing plants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School/General Education Diploma preferred.
  • Prior warehouse experience a plus.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Favorable background and drug exam.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible full-time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to provide own transportation to various locations in organizational service areas, as required by duties.
