Job description

Pioneering in America, from the first mile to the last. This is what drives us.

We’re proud to be Great Place to Work® certified—a reflection of our commitment to creating an environment where innovation thrives, and every voice matters.

Our continued growth has created an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor at our manufacturing facility.

In this pivotal role, you’ll make a significant impact on our high-performing production organization by leading and mentoring a talented, diverse team of assemblers. We’re looking for someone who thrives on the production floor—someone who leads by example, inspires collaboration, and fosters an environment where every team member can succeed.

If you’re passionate about driving results, building strong teams, and creating a culture of excellence, this is the role for you!

What you will be doing:
  • Plan production operations, define workflows, establish priorities, and sequence production activities to meet project objectives and interdepartmental requirements while achieving safety, quality, schedule, and labor-hour targets.
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust manpower, including hiring and promotions, as well as equipment planning and work-order sequencing to meet evolving production demands.
  • Foster open and consistent communication across the team regarding work status, department performance, process improvements, company policies, and operational expectations.
  • Lead employee development through performance management, including bi-annual reviews, training plans, coaching, and ongoing development of manufacturing personnel.
  • Drive production readiness and continuous improvement by ensuring vehicles are prepared for internal and external inspections, minimizing defects through root cause elimination, and maintaining readiness for on-time vehicle shipment.

This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all-inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.

What you will need to be successful:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Manufacturing, or Engineering or a combination of experience and education.
  • 5+ years of experience in planning and launching new production lines in low-speed environments such as rail, aviation/aerospace, naval, and heavy equipment.
  • We would be impressed if you have proven experience in the rail industry, with a focus on light or heavy rail production.
  • Proficient in SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Certification, OSHA Safety, Certified Manufacturing Engineer, Supply Management, EIT, or Professional Engineering License.
  • Hands‑on experience in customer service, maintenance, or aftermarket businesses within the rail industry.
  • Expertise in lean methods and tools, including 5S, 7 Types of Waste, root cause analysis, Yamazumi Methods, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, ABC‑XYZ Analysis, and Lean Shop Floor Management.
  • Experience in developing technology roadmaps for automation.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
