Nestlé Health Science in Sudbury, MA, is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee batch production records, supervise line staff, and back up the Sr. Production Manager in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of supervisory experience, strong quality and safety focus, bilingual English and Vietnamese, excellent organization, and flexibility to work a 4x10 shift including weekends.

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment and GMP familiarity is desirable.
  • Must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Fluency in English and Vietnamese is required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manage completion of batch production records
  • Supervise production line employees, ensuring assigned tasks and positions are being executed
  • Leads structured problem solving through GSTD methodologies by identifying abnormalities, investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions
  • Develops, implements, and coaches team on operational standards, standard work, and SOPs; verifies adherence through floor observations
  • Alerts management of equipment or material issues
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by directing personnel on controls, equipment, and resources, ensuring policy compliance
  • Resolves personnel problems by data analysis, investigation, and solution recommendation
  • Contributes to SOP development and ensures training on SOPs
  • Ensures manufacturing and packaging comply with food safety, GMP, HACCP, NSF, SQF requirements
  • Trains team in GMP processes and procedures
  • Contributes to team effort by achieving related results
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility in this role is to manufacture products by supervising staff; organizing and monitoring workflow. A background in a food/dietary supplement industry a plus. Ability to work in a strong team-based environment is essential. The production supervisor operates out of the manufacturer in Sudbury, MA and reports to the Sr. Production Manager. This position fills in as a back-up in the absence of the Sr. Production Manager.

WORK SCHEDULE: 4x10 shift: Wednesday-Saturday, 2:30 PM-1:00 AM.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees and manage completion of batch production records
  • Supervise production line employees, ensuring assigned tasks and positions are being executed
  • Leads structured problem solving through Go See Think Do (GSTD) methodologies by identifying abnormalities, investigating root causes at the source, developing corrective actions, and ensuring sustainable resolution of operational, quality, safety, and people-related issues
  • Develops, implements, and coaches team members on operational standards, standard work, and SOPs; verifies adherence through routine floor observation, feedback, and capability development to ensure consistent safety, quality, and production performance
  • Alerts management of issues with equipment or materials
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Contributes to SOP development and ensures team members are trained in and following SOP's.
  • Ensuring the manufacturing and packaging operations and production employees comply with food safety, quality, and cGMP requirements under HACCP, NSF and SQF programs
  • Trained in and ensures the team is following GMP processes and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Problem Solving

  • Timely closure of GSTD action plans.
  • Reduction of recurring operational losses. (US reduction)
  • Effective root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation. (Standards Developed and Coached)

Standards & Capability Building

  • Creation and maintenance of line standards and standard work.
  • Operator qualification and cross-training progress.
  • Sustained compliance to SOPs, GMPs, and shop-floor standards.
  • Coaching effectiveness observed during floor audits and DOR routines.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma, Associates degree preferred

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have 1-3 years previous production supervisory experience
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety control standards
  • Basic understanding of warehousing and concepts
  • Highly organized, able to multi-task, and follow direction set by the manager
  • Good communication skills and comfortable working will all team members
  • Ability to lift 15-20 lb. boxes repeatedly
  • Able to stand for extended amounts of time
  • Must have prior experience working in a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that will include some weekends
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Must be fluent and bilingual in both English and Vietnamese languages.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 base salary. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
