This role is responsible for supervising daily production activities, maintaining quality standards, supporting employee development, and helping improve overall plant performance.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Prioritizing daily tasks and production needsOversee the daily activities of the production, operations, recycling, and shipping & receiving teamsDelegate production assignments to the applicable teamInspect all materials and equipment to detect malfunctionsAdhere to all safety policies and proceduresSupervise the mixing and packaging of batches [liquids and powders]Ensuring quality output and on-time completionMonitoring hourly performance levels in Department to achieve production standards and resolve problemsEnsuring the completion of production records (daily production reports, process monitors, work orders, etc.) and performing the data entry, as requiredResponding to daily employee relations issues, and contributing to the resolution of associate concerns, to help promote a harmonious work environmentEnsuring new and temporary associates are properly trained and monitoring their workMaintain good housekeeping processesFoster a positive work environmentRecommend process improvements to the Plant ManagerAssists the Plant Manager to identify and lead investments and organizational changes needed to support sales growth, and improvements in profitabilitySkilled to operate a sit-down and reach forkliftOversee the performance of preventative maintenance and participate in general upkeep of production equipmentMaintain daily logs and record plant operating dataEffectively, timely, and respectfully communicate and interact with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and customersEnsure supplies are distributed as required throughout the facilityGeneral housekeeping of the plant and surrounding areasReport process and/or safety equipment issues to the Plant ManagerComply with all safety requirements within the companyComply with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements and safe handling practices as required from Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and company proceduresFollow WHMIS, MSDS and all other safety training requirements and proceduresFollow all government and regulatory requirements when handling and transporting chemical materialsRegular and sustained attendancePerform other duties as assigned or neededMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:3-5 years of prior supervisor/management experienceExperience with continuous improvement and driving changeProficient with business management principles (i.e. budgeting, strategic planning, etc.)Proven experience with team building and engaging the team to identify best practicesWorking knowledge of ISO, OSHA, and EPA regulationsExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office; WMS experience preferredProficient in hardware [industrial] printers and label software [Bartender]Experience operating warehouse equipmentPrevious experience in chemical production, manufacturing, and/or other related fieldsKnowledge of tools and equipmentStrong leadership qualitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA professional and positive attitudeExperience operating a sit-down forkliftAble to lift 50 lbs.Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.Standing and /or walking a minimum of 6 hours of an 8-hour shift.Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredBachelor’s Degree preferredManagement or Leadership Training preferredOTHER INFORMATION:Full-Time: 40 hours a week2nd Shift: Monday - Friday (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM)Benefits: Health Insurance, PTO, Holiday Pay, and 401K Match Plan.Direct Reports: 12-15This position works in an enclosed building that is subject to variances in temperatures, extreme heat in summer, and colder temperatures in winter.
