Job summary

Sterling Kohler in Brownwood, TX is seeking a Production Supervisor to provide first-line supervision for associates involved in manufacturing plastics bathing products. Responsibilities include leading multiple processes, ensuring safety, and meeting production targets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities of hourly associates on one or more processes.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce PPE and standard work.
  • Execute daily production schedule to meet productivity, quality, cost, and scrap targets.
  • Provide training and maintain a formal training program.
  • Support 5S and housekeeping; promote continuous improvement.
  • Participate in hiring/talent selection and evaluate performance.

Production Supervisor

Work Mode: Onsite

Location: Onsite – Brownwood, TX

Opportunity

To Provide first-line supervision for associates involved inthe manufacturing of Plastics Bathing Products. Processes includethermoforming, molding, fiber glass reinforcing, trim drill & grind,sub-assembly fabrication, final assembly, testing and packaging.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Managesone or more manufacturing processes by leading the daily activities ofhourly associates.
  • Responsiblefor maintaining a safe work environment by ensuring associates arefamiliar with the hazards of the work area, utilize required PPE andfollow the prescribed standard work for the task.
  • Executesthe daily production schedule to achieve the targeted productivity withinthe standards for quality, cost, rework & scrap.
  • Ensures associates are adequately trained to perform their assigned duties andmaintains formal training program.
  • Ensuresthat all policies & standards for conduct are followed to maintain a respectful workplace free from unlawful discrimination and if necessary,takes immediate action to correct associate behavior(s).
  • Supportsorganizational objectives, goals and promotes the spirit of teamwork andcontinuous improvement.
  • Incorporatesthe practices and principles of 5S, along with good housekeeping in allareas of responsibility.
  • Involvedwith the hiring/talent selection process by identifying the knowledge,skills, & abilities desired and screening potential candidates.
  • Maintainsa productive and professional relationship with associates through opencommunications & feedback.
  • Evaluatesassociate job performance, attitude and conduct to assure appropriaterecognition for accomplishments or the timely initiation of correctiveaction.
  • Accomplishesroutine administrative tasks such as labor accounting, productionreporting, and updating area glass walls.
  • Performsother duties and projects within scope of basic function as directed bythe Superintendent and/or General Supervisor, Plastics.
Skills / Requirements
  • 3+ years of manufacturing or related industry experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Experience in applying lean manufacturing principles to manufacturing activities preferably in any of the following categories: thermoforming, molding, fiber glass reinforcing, trim drill & grind, sub-assembly fabrication, final assembly, testing and packaging
  • Degree in business/industrial management, engineering or related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation.
