Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a designated production team, drive safety, quality and efficiency, and meet customer expectations.

You will direct frontline employees, coordinate with other departments, monitor KPIs, and promote lean practices such as 5S to improve performance.

The role requires a bachelor's in engineering or operations, 3 years of supervisory experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management.
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification a plus.
  • Experience in Lean environments and continuous improvement.
  • Self-directed team player with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work multiple shifts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish production objectives across Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, and Maintenance.
  • Coordinates production activities with other departments to achieve goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Ensures shift coverage and monitors performance; coordinates payroll-related hours.
  • Establishes and tracks shift KPIs for safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Enters production data to measure KPIs around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and productivity.
  • Promotes shop floor organization (5S) and leads start-up meetings.
  • Directs maintenance to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Promotes cost efficiency by minimizing downtime and overtime.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of a designated production team including safety, quality, efficiencies and meeting customer expectations. Provides overall direction to production floor employees in the areas of production, scheduling, performance management, training and other related areas striving to improve overall operational efficiencies.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of a designated production team including safety, quality, efficiencies and meeting customer expectations. Provides overall direction to production floor employees in the areas of production, scheduling, performance management, training and other related areas striving to improve overall operational efficiencies.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish production objectives to all employees for Safety, Quality, Production, Packaging, and Maintenance.
  • Coordinates production activities with other departments to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Works with the operations team to ensure vacancies are covered for any planned/unplanned.
  • Establishes and monitors shift performance for safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Enters production data accurately into the system in order to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.
  • Updates communication boards to keep production floor team members informed about safety, quality and efficiency metrics. Leads employee start-up meetings
  • Works with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses. Implements cost-effective systems around this as necessary.
  • Promotes shop floor organization, plant housekeeping with employees lean utilizing techniques such as 5S with shift personnel.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues; Directs maintenance employees to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform preventative maintenance.
  • May conduct tool store inventory reviews to ensure proper tools and/or parts are available for use in the event they are needed.
  • Prepares and reviews employees' worked hours for submission to payroll.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
  • Previous Labor Relations experience
  • Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement
