Aptar is seeking a Production Supervisor (Molding) based in Cary, IL. This position is fully onsite.

As a Production Supervisor, You Will: Responsible for supervising and coordinating manufacturing operations to ensure employee safety, product quality, and production targets are achieved. This role fosters a positive, data‐driven culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement to support long‐term capability and growth. Provides hands‑on technical support including participation in manufacturing activities and troubleshooting related equipment.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Schedule and assign manpower to meet manufacturing priorities, including managing overtime and employee time away from work.
  • Communicate and coordinate operational activities with cross‐functional departments to ensure alignment and execution of production plans.
  • Participate in the staffing process, including interviewing, employee selection, onboarding, and orientation of new hires.
  • Provide and/or coordinate required training to ensure employees are properly qualified and capable of performing their assigned tasks.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by monitoring work practices, correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors, and leading accident and near‑miss investigations.
  • Administer performance evaluations, employee development plans, and disciplinary actions as necessary to address performance gaps or policy violations.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S and BRC requirements.
  • Monitor daily production reports and key performance indicators (KPIs), investigate discrepancies, and drive corrective actions.
  • Reinforce process discipline, standard work, and expected behaviors through consistent communication and regular presence on the production floor.
  • Assess skill gaps, define development needs, and build technical and operational capability across the team.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Serve as a technical coach, translating complex process concepts into practical, actionable guidance for production personnel.
  • Lead department meetings to communicate priorities, review performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Education

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor’s or associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience related to supervision.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in injection molding and processing experience.

  • Must possess excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels
  • Must possess ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment
  • Must possess strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Must possess strong hands‑on technical capabilities to effectively support the work area being supervised
  • Must have good vision to perform visual inspection duties
  • Must be able to discern shades of color and color differences relating to component parts used in the manufacturing process
  • Must possess Intermediate or better PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite products and email programs such as Microsoft Outlook
  • Must be willing and able to be certified on a forklift
