Responsibilities
  • Oversee shift production on the production floor, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols, and supervising hourly production staff responsible for daily manufacturing activities.
  • Conduct coaching, counseling, discipline, timekeeping, and enforce policies and procedures for hourly employees.
  • Maintain production through continuous improvement activities, monitoring staffing and resources, and developing reporting procedures and systems.
  • Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and mentoring processes.
  • Identify shift production performance gaps in efficiency, suggest improvements, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by promptly resolving safety‑related issues and monitoring work practices.
  • Guarantee product quality by adhering to product/packaging specifications, SQF protocols, and OSHA compliance standards.
  • Validate equipment operation at the beginning of the shift, communicate problems, and initiate work orders for equipment that cannot be repaired during the shift.
  • Promote collaboration among team members across functions and hand off to onboarding leadership to maintain a high‑performance work environment.
Qualifications
Education
  • A bachelor’s degree or a combination of college education and equivalent work experience in a food manufacturing facility.
Experience
  • Four to five years of progressive experience working with industrial food manufacturing equipment and supervising multiple employees.

Skills
  • Ability to lead and direct a diverse set of human resources.

  • High School equivalency math skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA and other applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Knowledgeable in food processing, HACCP, GMPs, and sanitation preferred.
Work Environment And Physical Requirements
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to cold, wet or humid conditions.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise level.
  • Requires walking, sitting, standing, and bending for long periods of time.
  • May lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
  • Vision required to read instructions and enter data on a computer.
