Job summary

Polynt Group in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead shift operations onsite, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency and continuous process improvement in batch chemical production.

You will supervise and develop the team, manage KPIs, coordinate with maintenance, logistics, customer service and finance, and drive operational excellence while upholding OSHA/PSM/EPA standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in batch chemical processing or manufacturing operations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead crews and improve performance.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office, DCS/PLC).
• Knowledge/experience with process/mechanical equipment, DCS/PLC, piping and material handling.
• Math skills (weights, measures and conversions).
• Process troubleshooting capability.
• Knowledge of OSHA/PSM, EPA, and related codes.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the Production Supervisor is to lead and oversee shift operations onsite, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous process improvement. This role requires a hands-on leader with experience in batch processing, production management, and team development.

Essential Functions

• Leadership & Team Development: Supervise, mentor, and develop production employees, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operating procedures, and quality standards. Conduct 30-60-90-day evaluations, facilitate training, and drive employee engagement and performance improvement.
• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all safety, environmental, and compliance regulations are met in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies. Conduct safety talks, incident reviews, and risk assessments to maintain a safe work environment.
• Production Oversight & Optimization: Monitor batch operations and chemical production processes to ensure efficiency, quality control, and adherence to production schedules. Identify and troubleshoot process inefficiencies using root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Process & Quality Control: Conduct audits, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborate with cross-functional teams including maintenance, logistics, customer service, and finance to ensure seamless operations. Implement process improvements and drive operational excellence.
• Shift Management & Communication: Lead shift handoffs and ensure seamless communication between teams. Work closely with maintenance and production staff to address any operational challenges.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
