Job summary

Wabash is seeking motivated students for a hands-on manufacturing internship. You will lead a line balancing and bottleneck analysis project on the Slide Rail and Intercostal galvanization processes, observe production flow, collect data, and help drive improvements on the floor.

You'll participate in weekly Lunch and Learns, interact with mentors and leaders, and gain real-world experience with safety, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

• Pursuing degree in management or engineering.
• Experience with teamwork, CI activities, data analysis, or related coursework.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a line balancing and bottleneck analysis project on the Slide Rail and Intercostal galvanization.
• Observe production flow, collect and analyze process data, identify constraints.
• Recommend productivity improvements to increase throughput and efficiency.
• Support day-to-day responsibilities of a Production Supervisor, including safety and quality initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

• The intern will lead a line balancing and bottleneck analysis project focused on the Slide Rail and Intercostal galvanization processes.
• Responsibilities will include observing production flow, collecting and analyzing process data, identifying constraints, and recommending productivity improvements to increase throughput and efficiency.
• Throughout the project, the intern will gain hands-on experience performing many of the day-to-day responsibilities of a Production Supervisor, including coordinating with production teams, supporting safety and quality initiatives, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement efforts on the manufacturing floor.

Experience with team projects, continuous improvement activities, data analysis, or coursework related to operations, engineering, business, or manufacturing
