Job summary

Prospiant is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the fabrication department in Dallas, ensuring on-time production, quality, and cost control. The role includes supervising staff, maintaining safety programs, and meeting OTIF goals through strong planning and cross-department collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in a related field and at least three years of manufacturing experience, with bilingual Spanish being strongly preferred. Knowledge of metal stamping is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Supervises day-to-day production staff; conducts performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage fabrication production area to meet schedules, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
  • Direct production to supply assembly lines with parts on time to meet OTIF goals with good quality.
  • Plan and administer production schedules for presses within the department; uphold SOPs and QC standards.
  • Oversee production processes to deliver high-quality products while maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Drive and monitor production KPIs and address bottlenecks or delays.
  • Schedule maintenance of machines to avoid downtime and ensure safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve production concerns.

Description

Position Summary: Collaborates with the production team and responsible for all production activities of a given department. These activities include direct supervision of departmental personnel, maintaining on time production schedules, and enforcing all quality and safety programs daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Responsible for the management of the fabrication production area to meet production schedules, quality, safety and cost objectives.

· Directs activities related to producing WIP component parts to supply assembly lines with parts on time to meet OTIF goals, with good quality, and maintaining excellent inventory accuracy.

· Plan and administer production schedule for presses within department, SOP procedures, and production and quality control standards in the Fabrication Department.

· Oversee the production process to ensure delivery of high-quality products that meet customers’ needs while maintaining a cost-effective operation.

· Drive, improve, and monitor production Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

· Ensures appropriate production rate to reduce delivery delays.

· Identifies any bottlenecks or delays in production; ensures necessary labor, materials, and other resources are available to relieve production bottlenecks and delays.

· Use production planning and scheduling to limit materials shortages.

· Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve concerns.

· Schedule maintenance and repair of machines used in production processes to avoid downtime or delays.

· Ensures production machinery complies with professional and safety standards.

· Recognizes safety hazards and unsafe acts and takes immediate action to implement effective means of preventing re-occurrences.

· Handles safety programs and activities such as First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne Pathogens and hearing tests.

· Conducts new hire safety orientation.

· Conducts safety and production meetings with production staff as required.

· Analyzes data and takes appropriate action based on reports and ability to create reports using current proficiency abilities with computer programs such as Microsoft Suite.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience preferred.

· At least three years of relevant manufacturing experience.

· Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

· Knowledge of metal stamping process strongly preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Oversees the day-to-day workflow of production staff.

· Follows timekeeping requirements for production staff.

· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

· Manages disciplinary action process of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Travel Requirements: Less than 10% and as needed.

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing and walking on the manufacturing floor.

Work Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to manufacturing equipment and machinery, forklifts, and pallets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme hot and cold weather conditions. Personal protective equipment is required in all areas of the production plant.
