Job summary

Argon Industries, Inc. seeks a capable supervisor to lead shop teams in meeting safety, quality and production goals. You will coach personnel, enforce ISO policies, and interpret blueprints to ensure precise fabrication using lasers, turrets and brakes.

Responsibilities include maintaining schedules, coordinating resources, and overseeing inspections. Strong leadership, Lean methods and a results-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership to manage and motivate a manufacturing team.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring abilities to develop staff.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, review, train and motivate personnel to adhere to Argon’s Safety, Quality and Production objectives.
  • Understand, promote and enforce Safety Policy & Requirements and ISO Quality Policy & Requirements.
  • Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings.
  • Properly utilize inspection equipment to complete the job in accordance with ISO procedures.
  • Identify, anticipate and address potential problems and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Maximize department and employee efficiency and productivity, analyzing Time Variance Reports.
  • Maintain production schedule and coordinate resources, expediting as needed.
  • Coordinate required resources, schedule personnel and overtime, and communicate issues through email/meetings.
  • Train, monitor and enforce policies and procedures; ensure material handling and quality control.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and operate equipment in the department.

Evaluate, review, train and motivate personnel to understand and adhere to Argon’s Safety, Quality and Production objectives.

Position Responsibilities
  • Shop Specific:
  • Understand, promote and enforce Argon’s Safety Policy & Requirements.
  • Understand, promote and enforce Argon’s ISO Quality Policy & Requirements: including QAP’s and Work Instructions
  • Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings
  • Properly utilize inspection equipment to accurately complete the job in accordance with ISO procedures
  • Identify, anticipate and address potential problems
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area at all times
  • Observe, evaluate and suggest new ideas, policies and procedures
  • Job Specific:
  • Maximize the departments and its employees Job Efficiencies (Direct Labor) and Productivity (Indirect Labor), utilizing the variety of tools available including daily analysis of Time Variance Reports
  • Knowledge of equipment within assigned department/area: Lasers, Turrets, Press Brakes
  • Maintain the production schedule (Foreman’s Report, etc.), utilizing all resources available- Expediting work from other departments
  • Coordinating required resources
  • Scheduling personnel and overtime
  • Communicate issues, email, meetings, etc.
  • Train, monitor, communicate and enforce to ensure Argon Personnel are adhering to all Policies and Procedures. This includes Safety, Job Travelers, JobBOSS, Programs, Schedules, Issuing of Materials, Identifying Potential Problems and Process Improvements, Quantity Discrepancies, Skids/Packaging, etc.
  • Have materials staged, identifying appropriate materials, skids, boxes, fixtures, stays, tooling, etc. for the job.
  • Be able to evaluate, train and motivate personnel:- Department morale
  • Assess and address problems
  • Employee growth and development
  • Review, correct and approve daily the Employee Attendance and Job records
  • Perform First Piece, In-Process and Final Inspections as required.
  • Housekeeping
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Bonus:
  • Perform basic machine maintenance along with keeping the necessary records and reporting any issues or concerns immediately to your supervisor.
  • Setup and operate equipment within assigned department/area: Lasers, Turrets, Press Brakes
