Job summary

ADM seeks a Production Supervisor to provide leadership, coaching, and guidance across the production team on the plant floor. You will execute operational plans, drive improvements in people, products, and processes while optimizing costs and maintaining safety as a priority.

You will report to the Plant Superintendent and collaborate with Production, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance. Successful candidates will have HACCP training and continuous improvement experience, and be able to manage

Qualifications

• Must be able to lead and coach production teams to meet quality and customer specs.
• Strong familiarity with SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, Food Safety and Food Defense programs.
• Ability to communicate incidents and training needs to Plant Superintendent and QA/QFS teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide communications, guidance, and coaching to the production team to ensure products meet specs.
• Determine and communicate operator schedules and workflows; supervise through written instructions.
• Ensure employees are trained in SOPs, GMPs, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Allergen, Safety, and company policies.
• Alert Plant & Quality Managers of incidents affecting safety, quality, integrity, or security of materials and products.
• Document incidents thoroughly and communicate to Plant Superintendent or Production Manager.
• Assign duties and review work for accuracy and policy conformance.
• Provide training on SOPs and safety procedures; complete required training documentation.
• Monitor plant operations for schedule adherence and identify improvements.
• Support HACCP programs and other policies; align safety culture with ADM expectations.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to provide communication, guidance, and coaching for all production personnel. Execute operational plans that meet or exceed goals, continually improve people, products, processes, and production efficiencies while optimizing cost. Ensure that people and product safety are first and foremost.

Working Relationships: Production Supervisors work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance people on the plant floor to ensure engagement. This position reports directly to the Plant Superintendent and understands all aspects of plant operations and systems. Must obtain and maintain Leadership, HACCP Training, and Continuous Improvement Systems and Tools.

Authority: Production Supervisor has the authority to modify work schedules, approve OT, sick, and vacation time in partnership with Plant Superintendent, Production Manager and Human Resources. Provides performance coaching to ensure company policies and procedures are applied evenly and actively followed.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Providing communications, guidance, and coaching to the production Team to assure that in-process and finished products meet or exceed quality and customer specifications.
• Determines and communicates operator schedules, duties, and work-flow. Implements through timely coaching and review of written instructions.
• Ensures employees are trained in SOP’s, GMPs, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Allergen, Safety, and company policies and these programs are closely followed.
  • Alerts the Plant & Quality Managers of incidents that may have an effect on the Safety / Quality / Integrity / Security of raw materials, packaging components, and finished products.
• Ensure that employees work in a safe and responsible manner.
• Document incidents/issues thoroughly and communicate these per the Plant Superintendent. Or Production Manager
• Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy and conformance to specification and policy.
• Ensures that production batch records are completed without error Don’t like this .
• Reviews production documentation for accuracy and communicates errors in a timely manner.
• Provide training for production personnel on SOP’s and safety procedures as required per Production Manager and Plant Superintendent.
• Completes and submits employee training documentation in a timely manner.
• Continually monitors plant operations for adherence to schedule, while identifying and implementing improvements.
• Provide communications, guidance, and coaching in the training and development of all production personnel to retain a professional workforce.
• Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations while ensuring mutual understanding of desired results.
• Assign duties and projects to production personnel as necessary.
• Special projects as designated by the Plant Superintendent.
• Assists the Plant Superintendent and Safety Department to continue to align the safety culture with ADM expectations.
• Provides support and input for HACCP programs and other policies as required.
• Makes time for self-development.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Reports suspicious activity or unusual observations to the Plant Superintendent and QFS Manager
