Job summary

Adient plc is seeking a Mid-level Production Supervisor to manage daily production for a single line or area on one shift. You will develop and motivate the production team to maximize productivity and efficiency while ensuring quality and adherence to safety policies.

Responsibilities include planning operations, reviewing orders, maintaining standards, and training staff. Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills are essential for success in a unionized, automotive-oriented

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Experience in J-I-T automotive sequencing environment preferred.
  • Union experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work the C Crew: Fri/Sat 6:00–4:30, Sun/Mon 18:00–4:30

Responsibilities

  • Supervises production team members and directs daily activities per policies and laws.
  • Reviews production orders to plan department operations and ensure product specs.
  • Plans production operations, sets priorities, and coordinates activities to meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Ensures safety, housekeeping, and compliance with standards through inspections and training.
  • Provides coaching and training to develop a qualified, quality-conscious workforce.

JOB DESCRIPTIONSummaryMid-level Production Supervisor position with limited complexity manages daily production function within a plant for a single production line or specific area for one shift, focuses on the development, management, and motivation of production personnel to increase productivity and improve efficiencies.Main ResponsibilitiesSupervises production team members; directs daily activities of production workers and carries out supervisory responsibilities by the organization’s policies and applicable laws.Follows the collective bargaining agreement, plant rules, safety rules, attendance policy, and all other plant programs, policies, and procedures relating to production employees. Takes appropriate action to address the employee’s performance and/or behavior.Supervises production operation within the area of control to ensure compliance with methods, quality standards, safety regulations, production standards, and efficient operation of equipment.Review production orders to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products to plan department operations.Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products. Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications while working to exceed customer expectations.Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.Compiles, stores, and retrieves production dataDevelops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.Establishes and maintains good safety and housekeeping practices by communicating efficient and acceptable practices and cleanliness levels to all subordinates and by assuring adherence by inspection and investigation to provide safe working conditions. Responsible for the orientation and on-the-job training of employees in the safe, efficient operation of equipment.Provides counseling, coaching, and training for all team members to provide a fully qualified, quality-conscious workforce that produces world-class products for the customer.Adheres to and promotes all HS & E policies and procedures.Requirements:3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.Experience in J-I-T automotive sequencing environment preferred.Strong Communication skills with ability to manage Conflict Resolution.
