Twin City Fan & Blower in Aberdeen, SD is seeking a seasoned Production Supervisor to lead a team of operators in a high-volume manufacturing setting. The role focuses on delivering safety, quality, and on-time production, while driving continuous improvement and staff development.

Responsibilities include planning and directing work, training staff on standard work, maintaining 5S, and coordinating with quality, engineering and maintenance to resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO9001 requirements.
• 2–5 years leading or supervising other personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Meticulous record-keeping capability.

• Train operators on detailed work instructions and processes for correct production.
• Plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance and address issues constructively.
• Coordinate with quality, engineering and maintenance to resolve issues timely.
• Oversee scheduling, production and inspection as per the value stream.
• Complete daily metric tracker, scrap records and production reporting.
• Prepare annual performance reviews for operators in responsibility area.
• Uphold 5S and maintain a safe, organized work area; promote teamwork and morale.

Description du poste

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The position will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of operators to ensure the deliverables of a production department are met.

• Drive continuous improvement in the value stream.
• Manage and deliver and actively participate in Gemba
• Partner with support departments to update and create standard work (Work Instructions) when necessary.
• Train operators and ensure they follow detailed WIs, processes, and procedures to correctly produce products from the value stream.
• Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a positive and constructive manner.
• Confers with other supervisors to ensure the production schedule and commitments are maintained.
• Partner with the quality, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials are resolved correctly in a timely manner.
• Take corrective action on deviations.
• Analyze key issues affecting the value stream and initiate action plans.
• Highlight critical issues in the value stream to operations leadership.
• Partner with internal customers and suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time.
• Oversee the scheduling, production, and inspection required per the value stream.
• Complete Daily Metric Tracker, scrap records, training records and other documentation as required.
• Complete production reporting of work orders to ensure accuracy of component inventory.
• Studies production work schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/department schedules and goals.
• Uphold 5S requirements and maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
• Ensure a safe place to work.
• Support communication by having daily pre-shift huddles.
• Daily management of employee issues and problem resolution.
• Ensure good teamwork among value stream employees.
• Improve morale and motivation through implementation.
• Complete annual performance reviews for operators in area of responsibility.
• Comply with the policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the TCF Quality System.

To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to:

• Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
• Continuously or as needed, stand; walk; use hands to finger, ability to reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in small spaces.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
