Summary/Purpose
Manages specific manufacturing areas in the Richland plant. Provides leadership of assigned associates and specific departmental manpower and production targets for assigned department.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Ensure a safe work environment.
- Provide leadership and manage the assigned Manufacturing Departments, which can include any of the following Manufacturing groups (DAC Turning, HUB, 1st Grind, Face Grind, Turning)
- Responsible for providing leadership and direction in support of the company’s overall Quality Goals.
- Responsible for the Manufacturing Department’s manpower layout. Assuring minimum manpower with maximum coverage.
- Responsible for achieving the Area’s overall production targets and efficiencies.
- Responsible for paperwork involving Associates to be completed and submitted to Human Resources in a Timely Matter
- Maintain Confidentiality in Associate’s pay, personal, and medical problems, etc.
- Assume a leadership role for Kaizen and Improvement activities.
- Work with the Quality Departments to obtain Quality Goals pertaining to Scrap % Reductions, Non-Conformance Product Reporting, and Customer Complaints.
- Communicate to all associates (Supplier Scorecards, PPM, Critical Deliveries, New Programs, etc.)
- Interfaces with all levels in the organization using verbal, written and graphical communication tools to ensure efficient production/quality methods and results.
- Support 5-S, Kaizen Team and Koyo Production System, TS16949 and ISO1400 efforts throughout the plant.

- Direct/indirect Reports: Chief Leaders, Group Leaders, Change over Team, Manufacturing Technicians and Material Handlers

Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in business or engineering; three to five years related experience and/or training; and at least two years in a leadership role.

- Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
- Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
