The Marzetti Company is seeking a production shift supervisor to direct the processing, packaging and material handling activities on a designated shift. You will supervise employees to meet production objectives, maintain safety and quality standards, and manage costs and reporting.
Responsibilities include training and coaching staff, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring adherence to GMP, safety and HACCP programs in a manufacturing setting.
Directs the processing, material handling and packaging activities on a designated shift in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely production of finished products
Directly supervises 2-30 employees in the processing, packaging and material handling areas at the Allen and Quality Bakery plants. Responsible for the direction, coordination and results of the production area during a designated shift. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and appraising employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints/grievances and resolving problems.
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, climb, crouch, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more at various frequencies and or intervals. Must be able to stand for an 8-10 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive tasks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee may be exposed to non-ambient temperatures, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment. The noise level is loud in the plant. Ear protection, eye/face protection, hair/beard nets, steel-toed/slip-resistant shoes, and gloves are required as necessary in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
