Job summary

Ditsch USA Northland location is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead end-to-end production, ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets are met. You will manage 40+ staff, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate across Safety, Quality, and Supply Chain to meet the production schedule.

The role requires strong GMP/HACCP/OSHA knowledge, leadership, and a proven ability to coach teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A 40-hour week with 24/7 escalation readiness is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent education and/or related experience.
• Supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment, 5+ years preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma Certifications, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment following company policies & regulations, lead with a behavior-based safety mindset.
• Utilize Job Safety Analysis (JSAs) & Risk Assessment to mitigate and prevent injuries or incidents; conduct root cause & countermeasures.
• Inform the appropriate departments of major Production issues and participate in resolution of the problem.
• Collaborate with Safety, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain to maintain Production efficiency and scheduled delivery.
• Develop and utilize performance goals that align with the plant and company’s expectations and vision.
• Maintain budget requirements for labor, training and materials.

As a Production Supervisor, at Ditsch USA Northland location, you will be responsible for eliminating waste of the overall supply chain from start to finish for the product family; and for ensuring a quality product in a safe and cost-effective manner, that meets the production schedule and cost specifications, while complying with all safety rules, GMPs, and Food Safety and Quality. The Supervisor will create an environment where employees feel valued, challenged, and empowered by evaluating performance and potential of each employee and provide appropriate coaching. The role will analyze production performance and implement process improvements to minimize downtime, reduce material and labor requirements, and lower overall cost of our products while maintaining a continuous improvement environment. You'll be operating end to end with approximately 40+ people on average and an expectation of a 40-hour work week with 24/7 escalation availability.

Responsibilities

• Inform the appropriate departments of major Production issues and participate in resolution of the problem.
• Working collaboratively with Safety, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain to maintain Production efficiency and scheduled delivery.
• Develop and utilize performance goals that align with the plant and company’s expectations and vision.
• Maintain budget requirements for labor, training and materials.
• Execute troubleshooting and regular evaluation of pertinent processes for enhancement across all functions related to end-to-end ownership.
• Ensure team is staffed properly, trained, resourced, supplied and managed to attain strategic objectives.
• Execute Standard Work, develop SOP’s, and Work Instructions for Operations inside end-to-end ownership.
• Execute root cause solving procedures to all functions, using common tools to develop, document and implement countermeasures in relation to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Execute tools and procedures to minimize process variation to ensure compliance and established standards.
• Actively participate and provide direction towards all process improvements inside end-to-end ownership with Safety, Quality, Planning, Maintenance/Engineering, Sales & Marketing and Supply Chain.
• Establish and execute standards and audits from end-to-end ownership.
• Owning all GMPs and completing required documentation.

Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and OSHA regulations.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for coaching and developing and employees; including disciplinary actions.
• Leads by example including demonstration of all job functions, with consistent enforcement of all company policies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication skills including oral and written presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and drive change management.
• Basic understanding of Production Equipment and processes with technical ability for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment.

Education And Experience

Compensation Range

$75,000 - $85,000

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, and other job-related qualifications/skills.
