Job summary

OPW Propane Energy Solutions is seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd shift (Mon-Thu 2:30pm–1:00am) to lead production teams toward safety, quality, and on-time delivery in a Lean environment. You will coach employees, drive continuous improvement with Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, and partner with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and improve performance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production with team leadership, experience with ATM/Shop Floor

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in production, with at least 1-2 years in leading a team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing or industrial production environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for employee supervision, scheduling, safety, performance management, and operational execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees and team leads to achieve operational goals while fostering a culture of safety, respect, inclusion, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Create an engaging work environment where employees from diverse backgrounds feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute their ideas and talents.
  • Build strong relationships with team members through regular communication, feedback, recognition, and performance coaching.
  • Promote a positive employee experience by addressing concerns proactively, resolving conflicts effectively, and encouraging collaboration across teams.
  • Support talent development through training, cross-training, skills advancement, succession planning, and continuous feedback.
  • Direct and coordinate daily production activities, including reviewing work orders, scheduling resources, establishing priorities, and ensuring production goals are achieved.
  • Monitor production performance and resource utilization to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.
  • Conduct regular floor audits and Gemba walks to assess safety, quality, productivity, and process adherence while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments to resolve challenges and improve performance.
  • Facilitate timely processing and shipment of customer orders while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles to improve safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.
  • Encourage employee participation in continuous improvement efforts and foster a culture where ideas for improvement are welcomed and acted upon.
  • Analyze operational metrics and trends to identify root causes, eliminate waste, improve workflows, and drive sustainable process improvements.
  • Lead and support improvement projects that enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain employee attendance, payroll, production, and performance records accurately and timely.
  • Utilize systems such as ATM, Shop Floor Plus, AS400, Infor XA, Excel, and Word to monitor production activities and report results.
  • Maintain and communicate performance metrics through visual management tools, communication boards, and team meetings.
  • Participate in SQDIP, safety, and operational meetings, providing updates, recommendations, and leadership support.
  • Support hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, disciplinary actions, and employee recognition initiatives.

Job description

The Production Supervisor (2nd shift schedule is Monday - Thursday 2:30pm to 1:00am) plays a critical leadership role in driving operational excellence while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
