Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC is seeking a Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift (2:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.) to oversee the 8DJH GIS line at the Electrification and Automation facility.

You will lead daily production, develop a team, drive Lean, 6S and safety, collaborate with engineering, quality, logistics and planning, monitor KPIs, and support new product introductions with a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years in industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years in supervisory role within a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing context.
  • Proven Lean, process improvement and 5S implementation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop a team of production associates, ensuring engagement and performance.
  • Champion 6S, Safety, and Lean Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Planning to resolve production issues.
  • Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions as needed.
  • Optimize labor and equipment utilization to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
  • Utilize Tier Meetings to track metrics and implement improvements.
  • Direct day-to-day activities in production areas, including manpower and workload assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards and company policies.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes on the floor.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records in SAP and production workflows in Salesforce.com.
  • Oversee time and attendance tracking using Dayforce for payroll compliance.
  • Participate in audits and customer visits and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote ownership, collaboration, and innovation across the team.

Position Summary

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and manage daily production activities to meet or exceed safety, quality, cost, and delivery (SQCD) targets.
  • Supervise and develop a team of production associates, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and accountability.
  • Champion 6S, Safety, and Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and Planning teams to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Optimize labor and equipment utilization to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.
  • Utilize the Tier Meeting process to track and assess key operational metrics and implement actions and methods to improve operational performance.
  • Direct day‑to‑day activities in production areas, including manpower movement, job assignments, time/attendance/vacation data, and pulling workloads to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes by coordinating resources and ensuring readiness on the production floor.
  • Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste, and improve cycle times.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, labor hours, and material usage in SAP.
  • Manage production order workflows and updates in Salesforce.com.
  • Oversee time and attendance tracking using Dayforce, ensuring accurate payroll and compliance.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, customer visits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and innovation across the team.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of SAP in a manufacturing context.
  • Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, process improvement, and 5S implementation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team‑building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in switchboard or electrical equipment assembly and manufacturing.
  • Technical training or certifications in manufacturing, operations, or lean methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean Certification.

Salary range: $61,547 - $105,509.
