Job summary

Overview

The Pictsweet Company is a 4th generation family‑owned company established in 1945 and is a frozen vegetable producer with agricultural roots. We are recruiting at Pictsweet's flagship manufacturing facility in Bells, TN. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing the department during an assigned shift and coordinating departmental activities with other managers and supervisors to ensure production meets budget, scheduling, and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure and monitor all quality and food safety systems for the production of quality products manufactured under clean and safe conditions.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulations relating to food safety and personnel safety such as FDA, USDA, OSHA, and TOSHA.
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures and ensure a safe workplace.
  • Coordinate production scheduling with management, warehouse, quality control, and maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor production lines, direct daily production schedules, visually inspect work areas and production equipment, ensure equipment operates properly, and notify maintenance if repairs are needed.
  • Monitor hourly HACCP checks and ensure compliance with standards and procedures, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Monitor, train, and evaluate hourly associates and provide counsel as necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate production performance to ensure performance standards are met; adjust product, manpower, and equipment resources as needed.
  • Implement corrective action when process deviations occur in accordance with the facility's HACCP program and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Control costs, operate within budget parameters, and maintain appropriate production records and statistical reports.
  • Communicate frequently with plant management regarding production and anticipate and resolve problems.
  • Assist in both internal and external food safety audits and conduct food safety and personnel safety training.
  • Serve on the Emergency Response Team and act as a first responder to accidents, participating in all required meetings.
  • Assist in timekeeping and learn appropriate systems to manage associates' time.
  • Perform all other duties appropriate to the position as requested by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or ten years' experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing or food environment.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) helpful but not required.
  • Must be computer proficient with spreadsheets and word‑processing.
  • Must reside within 15 miles of Bells, TN or be willing to relocate.
