Karman Space & Defense is seeking a Full-Time Production Manager to lead daily composite manufacturing operations in Salt Lake City/West Valley City, UT, ensuring safe, efficient production on schedule. The role requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or 4+ years of experience in an equivalent role, preferably in manufacturing and composites.
• Experience using manufacturing machinery, tools, and composite fabrication equipment.
• Proven skills in Microsoft (MS) Office.
• Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day production operations, assigning work, managing priorities, and coordinating resources.
• Ensures employees have proper materials, equipment, and support to meet production goals.
• Trains and develops technicians, including onboarding, cross-training, and establishing capability objectives.
• Evaluates employee performance, provides constructive feedback, and supports performance goal alignment.
• Addresses employee issues, supports hiring and termination decisions, and maintains positive team morale.
• Ensures safe operation of equipment, schedules maintenance, and trains employees on safety procedures.
• Reviews and approves timecards, overtime, and paid time off requests.
• Identifies process inefficiencies, recommends improvements, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitors production processes, maintains KPIs, and prepares progress reports.
• Ensures compliance with company policies, safety guidelines, and legal requirements.

This role is part of our Tactical Missiles and Integrated Defense Systems business, which designs and develops integrated missile and defense systems that support critical missions across air, land, and sea.
